Market Wharf contributes to the interweaving of residential and commercial development that characterizes the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood. A masonry-clad podium echoes the massing, materiality and height of St. Lawrence Market to the north. Ground floor shops are sheltered by a glazed canopy that wraps the perimeter, protecting pedestrians and establishing a humane scale where the building meets the street. Above grade, four floors of parking at the core of the podium are screened by residential units arranged around the edge of each floor plate.
A curvilinear amenity pod and a bar of two-storey townhouse units mediate between the podium and the 34-storey residential tower. The simplicity of the tower form is mitigated by the undulating rhythm of facetted balconies that catch and reflect the light, establishing a presence for the project on the city skyline.
